Episode 28: I Just Want to Chew on Someone

This week on the A to Z Anime Podcast…

We get right into it with a HUGE New Release Tuesday:

Then we cover the latest Winter Simulcasts: All Out!! (sporty), Super Lovers (gay), Masamune-kun’s Revenge (dropped), Blue Exorcist, Saga of Tanya the Evil (evil), Show Genroku Rakugo Shinju (omgwhatcanyouevensayitisamazing), Interviews with Monster Girls (who knew foot sweat was so endearing), ACCA (boys bond over toast), Gabriel Dropout (dropped), Hand Shakers (we dared Zack to love it), Tiger Mask W (oh my god!), Onihei (manly), Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid (controversial translation choices!), Naruto (this latest filler is actually pretty good), Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans (*tears*), elDlive (it was all a misunderstanding), Gintama (GINTAMA), Nanbaka, Marginal #4 (marginal), and Dragon Ball Super (Goku’s an idiot).

We round things out with this week’s Shonen Jump and the new Jump Start: We Never Learn!

And seriously, we never learn–we start with Jump and get totally off topic and end up talking about how great Black Lagoon is.

Episode 11: Man Feelings & Testosterone Tears

Welcome to Episode 11! We start off with News (1:05) where Zack talks about Yakuza 0 and XCOM2 (maybe instead of News this should be called Zack’s Video Games Corner?). Turns out he also watched Kulipari on Netflix.

Air goes on a rant (14:56) inspired by #ComicBookHour tweets which segues into a rant about yuri (23:20).

Then Zack gives you the Staring Into The Abyss With Osamu Tezuka segment (30:12). This week’s Tezuka is The Book of Human Insects.

It’s time for a HUGE New Release Tuesday! (45:22)

This one isn’t exactly a new release but it was new to me & I had to share.

Whew! Now for wrapping up the Summer Simulcasts (1:30:00)–D.Gray-man HALLOW, Morose Mononokean, B-Project, Cute Earth High Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!, 91 Days, Cheer Boys!!, Handa-kun, Bananya, Saiki K, Alderamin on the Sky, and Thunderbolt Fantasy.

Next up is Lesser-Known Classics: Pleasant Surprises (1:56:25). This week’s feature is They Were Eleven.

Next week we wrap up the Pleasant Surprises theme with Shura no Toki!
