Episode 33: Let Them Eat Cake

This week on the A to Z Anime Podcast…

Zack starts with News about Tekkaman Blade and VR. Air takes over (30:31) with impressions of last week’s new releases (All-Rounder Meguru, Giant Killing, Platinum End, Welcome to the Ballroom, and One Punch Man) and an update of her Rurouni Kenshin rewatch.

Then it’s time for a special edition of New Release Tuesday–Gay Tuesday! (42:20)

**Air’s Note: both of these volumes were read after the podcast was recorded. They were both really great and I recommend them. Hana & Hina especially exceeded my expectations.**

How about those Winter Simulcasts? (45:49) We cover Nanabaka, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Naruto Shippuden, Interviews with Monster Girls, Saga of Tanya the Evil, Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, Blue Exorcist, All Out!!, Onihei, Iron-Blooded Orphans, elDLIVE, Gintama, Tiger Mask W, ACCA, and Ancient Magus’ Bride.

We finish up with this week’s Shonen Jump! (1:48:49)

Thanks for listening and we hope to see you next week!

Episode 8: We Finally Get to the Basement!

We’re back with lots to discuss. Finally, AoT fans, we find out what is in the fucking basement! Woo!

After some pointless banter, we get into News (1:11) and Zack talks about sake documentaries, XCOM 2, Reiki Punch, and Osamu Tezuka’s Apollo’s Song (6:54). Air dives into JoJo’s (13:09), catching up on the D. Gray Man anime (13:26), and how Food Wars relates to real life (17:23).

Kenshin takes over (23:10).

We go over the Lesser Known Classic for this week: Roujin Z! (27:15) Next week is A Wind Named Amnesia.

Then it’s a special edition of New Release Tuesday…BL TUESDAY!!! (35:53)

Somehow the conversation rounds about to Osamu Tezuka but then we get back on track talking about Crunchyroll Manga (51:12). Highlights are Heroic Legend of Arslan, Fairy Tail, Sukedachi 09, Inside Mari, and WHAT IS IN THE BASEMENT in Attack on Titan.

Time for this week’s Shonen JUMP (1:04:02) and the final Kishimoto/Togashi interview (1:46:19). Don’t ask how we end up talking about Fullmetal Alchemist (2:05:00) and voice actors. By request we kind of talk about Wolf Children (3:07:05).

Finally it’s over (3:27:26).
